Just like the other lastest on here. I have some leftover hops that I want to use in a recipe. I'd like to do something similiar to a ESB, brown ale or porter. I know I would need a amber or Dark LME probably 7 lbs, but I'm not sure of what and how much malt to use. Nor a schedule to brew it.
Would something like this work for a porter?
7 lbs of Amber LME
0.5 lbs of crystal 120L malt
0.5 lbs of chocolate malt
0.25 lbs of black patent malt
I also have 1.5 lbs of honey I could drop in with the LME????
This is what I have. I have no real idea of the schedule
1.5 ounces of Golding Hops 4.4% boiling 60 minutes
0.5 ounces of Northern Brewers 10.2% boiling 10 minutes
0.5 ounces of Mt Hood 6.7% boiling for 15 minutes
0.5 ounces of Chinook 12.4% boiling for 5 minutes
I really don't have a clue if this would work, I was just going off of the percentages....
Can someone maybe review this, give me some thoughts and possibly the numbers. OG, FG, SRM etc. what I could expect from this?
Thanks guys... Pete
