Hey all,

I'm trying to formulate an extract recipe from a Sam Adams Honey Porter clone recipe that I found on Beerrecipes.org. I used Beer Calculus (BJCP says it's a Robust Porter) to come up with the following for a 2.5 gallon half-batch:

2# Amber DME
1# Light Honey
.5# Crystal Malt 60
.5# Chocolate Malt

.5 oz Perle @ 60
.25 oz Fuggles @ 30
.25 oz Fuggles @ 5

Safale US-05 (1 pkg.)

OG 1.062
FG 1.017
SRM 33
IBU 35
ABV 6%

I plan on using about 1.5 gallons for the boil (only have a 2.5 gallon pot) and adding 1 gallon of water to make a 2.5 gallon batch.

Does this sound like a decent honey porter or am I way off base? I had trouble locating a lot of recipes; therefore, I'm winging it based on this one recipe.

Any suggestions, deletions, additions or substitutions will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Tim
