Here is the intended recipe when I walked into the LHBS:

5lbs PILSNER malt
5lbs wheat malt
1lb Honey Malt
.5lb Special B

1oz Mt. Hood (6.1%) 60minutes

Wyeast Weihenstephaner

-----------------------

I bought the 5lb bag of German Pilsner, and went to the mill. I mixed 2 bags up, and ended up putting 5lbs of Canadian 2-row into the recipe instead of the Pilsner.

Anyone ever tried such a recipe? What type of effect do you guys predict?

I'm going to go ahead and brew this and see what happens. I saved the 5lb bag of pilsner malt to try this one again for the next brew I do, since I plan on washing the yeast anyways.

I don't know, we'll see!

Thanks for any input

I don't think you will be too disappointed. I've done a dunkel with 2 row and it was tasty, maybe not as crisp as I'd like but If anything you'll get a good idea when you brew the next batch. Let us know how it goes!

Maybe drop the honey malt down a lil? I dunno, just guessing . Either way I say you brew exactly the same between 2 row/ pils so you can get a true answer as far as base malt goes.
