I have never made wine before. I have made beer however. Anyway, I got a kit for christmas, and I was reading through the instructions. If I want to age the wine for over 6 months it says to add 1.5 grams of Potassium Metabisulphite to my wine before bottling. I don't have a scale, anyone know how much that is in another measurement? Also, does that sound right to you and how long will that allow me to age my wine before it starts to get funky?

THANKS!:tank:

If I were you I would buy campden tablets. They're really really cheap (75 cents for 25). Add one campden tablet (crushed) per gallon of wine. But I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to your original question.

That would be .316 of a teaspoon. Google "Kitchen conversion calculator" and bookmark that site. (I don't know how to post a link)Lots of good conversion info there.
