I am thinking of mixing up the extract directions after reading through several threads. I would like to do a full boil (5 gallon batch) with half extract a start and the rest in the final 15 minutes. Can someone help me out with the hop schedule as far as how much to use since I am changing up the volume and extract?

AHS Kalamazoo IPA

Specialty grains:
2 lbs Vienna Malt
5 oz Crystal 10L Malt
1/2 lb of Cara Pils Malt

8 lbs of LME

1 oz Centennial 60 min
.5 oz Centennial 30 min
.5 oz Centennial 15 min
1/3 oz Centennial 0 min

1/3 oz Centennial dry hopped

1.060 SG
1.012 FG

Around 60 IBU I guess is the max for this type but I am not for sure.

I checked on HBo_Org but I wanted to clarify before committing to it.

Thanks before hand for any guidance.

What is the AA% of the Centennial?

I am using an extimate of 10%.

The recipe as it stands would be about 55 IBU according to my estimation.

The overall bitterness is about right. I might aim for about 65.

Moreover, my problem with this recipe is that at I am getting closer to 1.070 gravity. At which point I think this recipe is under hopped in the later periods.

I would do this to match the grain bill better

60
1.25 oz centennial

20
.5 oz centennial

5
.5 centennial

Flameout

1.5 centennial

dry hop

1.5 Centennial

I like the hop aroma and flavor to be more pronounced than the malt flavor. In an IPA I like the malt to be background.

Thanks for the help. I was worried about using the same amount of hops specified by AHS since I am changing the preboil volume and the amount of extract at the beginning. I enjoy a well hopped beer also so either way I should be pleased.
