I'm brewing the AHS West Coast Pale Ale tomorrow. I'm considering adjusting the hops though since I'm not big on an overly hoppy beer.
Right now the calculation I came up with using Rooftop Brew's calculator is 45.5 IBU's. The hop schedule for the kit is:
1 1/2 oz 5% Cascade 60 minutes
.75 oz 5% Cascade 15 minutes
.75 oz 5% Cascade 5 minutes
I was thinking of changing the 60 minute addition to .75 oz instead of 1.5 oz. That would change the IBU's to 28.7.
Is there anything I should be worried about by doing this? I'm assuming that the beer would just be less bitter.
