Fellow Homebrewers and Beer Enthusiasts,

In celebration of National Homebrew Day on May 1st, Fullsteam Brewery in Durham, NC http://www.fullsteam.ag/ is opening its doors and inviting ANY and ALL local homebrewers to come and participate in the Big Brew created by the National Homebrewers Association. http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/pages/events/national-homebrew-day
The idea is that homebrewers can come to 726 Rigsbee Ave in Durham, NC on May 1st anytime after 10:00am, bring their brewing gear and brew up a batch alongside fellow local homebrewers and in the shadows of Fullsteam's fermenters. This is a great way to meet fellow homebrewers and share tips, tricks and recipes, plus a great way to rub elbows with the guys that brew for a living! Even if you're not brewing or not even a brewer come and hang out and have a good time. Any and all are welcome.

As far as what to brew there are a few options. #1 You can brew any recipe you'd like be it extract or all-grain. #2 You can choose one of the Big Brew recipes found here: http://wiki.homebrewersassociation.org/BigBrew2010. Or #3 Create your own recipe using local agricultural or experimental ingredients for a chance to come back and brew the recipe on the Fullsteam 15bbl brewhouse. That's right, if you brew a recipe using local agricultural or experimental ingredients, or you have already, you can enter it in a best of show competition back at Fullsteam, and whatever recipe wins, the homebrewer will get to brew that batch on Fullsteam's system and have this beer on tap at the R&D Tavern. The competition date will be determined later.

Event details:
-Brewing starts around 10:00am, but feel free to show up anytime. Brewers should bring their gear to the back of the building to set up. If you would like to drop your gear off on Friday, please email Chris ([email protected]) to coordinate a time.
-All attendees will be required to sign a release form upon arrival.
-Fullsteam has plenty of water for all to use, all you need is gear and ingredients.
-Chris and Brooks will be manning the grill so food will be provided by Fullsteam. Feel free to bring homebrew to share, but remember to be responsible!
-Tell everyone you know and get them down to 726 Rigsbee on May 1st!
-Huge thanks to the guys at Fullsteam; Sean, Chris, and Brooks for supporting the local Homebrew community!!!

Please sign-up at the event brite page http://fullsteamhomebrewers.eventbrite.com/ so the guys can get a count of the number of brewers and for an adequate amount of food.

See you there!

My buddy and I are going to be in attendance. It looks like a fun time. We are not planning on brewing.

That's cool. The more the merrier! The Fullsteam guys are a good time, it'll be fun.
