The title mostly says it all -- I'm making a honey brown soon and thought that priming the bottles for carbonation with more honey instead of the priming sugar might be nice...

Has anyone tried this and does anyone have a suggestion as to how much I would need? I definitely like a little carbonation, but don't need a heady brown ale, or exploding bottles.

thnx.

Use 1 cup of honey, for 5 gal, instead of whatever you are using now, and everything else the same.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,

The math for 1 cup of honey per 5 gallons is correct. Most recipes will work fine with 65 grams (3 tablespoons) of honey per gallon of wort. 1 cup of honey works out to 68 grams per gallon. Right in the window.
