I have fluorescent lights in my room, but have been using a black trash bag to cover the secondary fermenter is this sufficient? Also I was an idiot and forgot to block the light for about 6 hours the first day, although my room gets little sunlight and the fluorescent lights were off the entire time I believe. What are my odds of my beer being skunked?

I use a black trash bag like you. One other thing the trash bag helps with is if you have blowing krauzen. I've had some brews blow through the water trap but luckily, the trash bag caught all the mess. Hate to think of the mess I would have had if it would have drained right on the carpet.
