made a starter, no problems, good activity. did a cold crash for about 6 hours (all I had time for) and had good sediment but "wort" was still cloudy. Is that right or do I need more time in fridge? I didn't decant because it was still cloudy.

How long do I need to take it out to warm up for before pitching?

More time will settle out the yeast. Its best to get at least 12 or so hours to get the yeast to fully drop out of the starter so you can pour of the spent wort.

I personally do not warm up the yeast to pitch. I cold pitch into the wort.
 
Once it gets up to room temp. it is ready to be pitched. If you are not going to decant then there is no reason to cold crash it. There's nothing wrong with that, in fact it's nearly impossible and probably ill-advised to cold crash and decant when using low flocculation strains.

+1 cold pitch works very well, don't fear it !

I usually cold crash my starters for several days.
