Hello all! First time poster here with a cider query!

I have an entire tree full of pears and a tube of WhiteLabs Trappist Ale yeast. I'm aiming at a 5-gallon batch of something. What would you do in this situation?

I would make a pear cider. If you want to test out how the pears taste for cider, make a small batch first in a gallon jug, or something of the sorts. Couldn't hurt. Just try to make a starter out of a small amount of your yeast, so you still have enough for the 5 gal. batch you want to do. Then if you like it, you can do a 5 gal. batch, and you will know what to expect. When to add sugar, when to rack, etc...
