Hi guys. I made my first batch two days and have a quick question:

Will using dish soap to clean my blow off tube cause residue to be left behind? I rinsed the tube for about 2 min straight with hot water after I put some soap in it.

Thanks!

You should be fine.

I don't bother with soap, I just run hot water through it, and maybe a little sanitizer, but I doubt enough soap residue will stay around to cause any trouble. I'd be more worried about soap in a racking hose or something that you intend beer to pass through. A blow-off tube is pretty much one-way, and even if you get a little backflow it'll be a tiny amount.

I'd go with just sanitizer as last step if you have it, but ether way you'll be fine. Sanitizer is a brewers best friend "don't fear the fome"
