Has anyone tested Nottingham yeast down to it's quoted lowest accptable temp?

It's a bit chilly here at the moment and my brew corner is down to a fairly stable 13c to 14c. The fermentation appears to be still going...just more slowly.

Does anyone have any experiences with this yeast this cold?

Ta!

Hi Danlad,

Nottingham is quite tolerant of cooler fermentation temperatures; I've successfully fermented quite a few ales at 57-58°F and the resultant beers were very clean tasting with minimal ester fruitiness. Of course, as you have noted, fermentation can take a bit longer at the lower temps of the range.

Good luck!

Jason
