looks like some tabby, and himylayin in there. fine lookin feline!

Thanks, that's what we were thinking she was. She's a great cat. Goes from lazy to piss-n-vinegar in mere seconds.

She made her first kill the other day. I'm happy to report that thanks to her that roll of 2-ply is no longer a threat to anyone.

This is my buddy Mikko, he is a 7 year old sheltie. His sister is a little sheltie we rescued named Honey, but she is a so hard to snap a pic of, she is always on the move, but I will see if I can dig up a pic somewhere!

Well, she lived in a cage (granted, a HUGE one) in the house and we always planned on building her an area outside to play in when we bought a place. But now that we're buying a place they have rules that preclude having any animals outside other than dogs and cats. So, we thought she'd have a better life with some friends of ours that have had house rabbits and will be able to give her more time outside the cage to play and interact. With us, she spent 99% of her time cooped up and it just wasn't fair. Now, she'll get to be a 4-H rabbit! :)

Very cool. So far Mr Jingles has enjoyed hanging out around the house, and he enjoys being in the kitchen with us when we're cooking.

Sweet. Oh, if this is your first house bun, be wary of any cords that are within reach. Power cords, speaker wires, computer cables, anything. They LOVE to see how small of pieces they can turn 'em into.

Hahaha that's what i've been hearing. He seems to enjoy "binkying" a lot, which I'm very glad to see

We're a big dog household. SWMBO trains German Shepherds for Schutzhund - a dog sport similar to police dog work. We've got three at the moment:

Brix (learning to fly!)

Bradi

Those two are littermates and will turn 2 in a couple weeks.

Cato is 3.5 years old and is in the prime of his 'working dog' career:

He only bites when he is supposed to (when "the bad guy" brandishes a weapon, or attempts to flee)! Most of the time he's a big, furry, lovable sweetheart

Nice deep grip! Did they take points off for him touching the decoy during the bark and hold or is that training?

Just a training session. The pics were taken prior to his SchH1. He learned to drop some of his bad habits and passed with no problems. Last month he got a "V" rating in his (and our) first conformation trial!

V (Vorzuglich)

Is the German word for excellent. The V designation when proceeding a dog's name indicates that it has been evaluated as excellent in a German style conformation show. In order to earn the V the dog must be entered in the working classes meaning it must have a Schutzhund title. The V is reserved for dogs with excellent conformation and movement. It is the highest conformation rating that can be awarded in a local or regional show.

Very cool! Not many people understand how much time goes into training.

Wish I could take some credit for it... SWMBO easily spends 20 hours per week working with the dogs and perhaps double that when she is prepping for a trial - that's on top of her full-time job. All the work shows though! They know 40 different commands in German and English and never fail to obey a command once they learn it.

Our first Shepherd was Kaia. She lived to be 13 years old. What a great dog she was - and quite an "ambassador" of the breed. Great with strangers, kids, etc.

Comet, my Border Collie. This was back from 2006 when I was making my own Christmas cards to mail out. He's a good dog, but spoiled. heh.

Its with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes that I post a toast to Jasper, my 13+ year old, ever loving dog. We got him when I was in late single digits and I wanted to name him Balto after the dog in the movie, but my Dad pulled out a map and found the name Jasper, which stuck.

He spent the first 5 years of his life peeing like a lady dog, because he learned from Kona and Saute, our old lady dogs that I was born with, may they meet him in doggie heaven with rawhides....

Jasper was the friendliest dog I know. He will be sorely missed by his "sister," Pepper, who does not know life without him and is presently hurt and confused. I'll be raising a pint of Vermonster in Jasper's honor tonight; I love you and will miss you waiting in the yard 'til we're all home, big fella.

Ah, so sorry to hear. Never easy. A pint of Bluegrass Brewing Co. APA has just been raised in his honor.

Here is my Irish Setter, Conan

Conan has since passed but I will always remember him as the absolute best dog that I have ever known.

I hope y'all get the privilege of having an Irish Setter one day

The APBT is Sirius(Siri for short) aka "the monster." The GSD is Kaiser.

Kaiser does anything I tell him and follows me everywhere. He is incredibly mellow and obedient. I found him on the street near my work(pretty much on the Las Vegas Strip) and I was going to give him to a local German Shepherd Rescue, but decided to keep him instead. Best decision I ever made.

Siri is 18 months old and still in puppy mode. She's the sweetest dog ever. She loves adults, kids, other dogs, cats, whatever. She could be the poster child against pitbull stereotypes. The only attack you'll get from her is a serious tongue lashing or wagging tail whip. Her nickname of "the monster" gets her really riled up, so be warned.

These are my kids
Chloie is a catahoula/sheltie mix and Murphie is a manx. They are best friends.

the dog is my 18 month old lab/aussie, Sienna (AKA C-Biscuit, boogers [used to have a really bad eye-booger problem] as well as all the normal dog nicknames such as stinky, smelly, etc). both of those pictures are at around 8 months. very smart, but not the best mannered, total sweetie.

the gray cat in the picture is my sister's cat Goose, total spaz, but a sweetie nonetheless.

not pictured is Freyja. big ball of calico fur, 11 years old. barely tolerates Goose, hates the dog, but loves people.

all three waiting at home every day, but usually just Sienna greeting me at the door.

Freyja used to roll around on the kitchen floor when my dad would brew, Goose will lick stout off my finger, but hates pales and liquor. Sienna just plain doesn't like beer.

This is Gus. A poodle mix we picked up from the pound.

I love him because he is great with the kids, loves people, and he doesn't eat a lot (he's only 25 lbs).

I hate him because he still has his street dog ways! He is an escape artist, doesn't run away anymore but he will get out somehow and pee on all my neighbors lawns! It's an older neighborhood and most are retired. Which means they never miss a beat and always like to inform me when he was in their yard.

He also dug up one of my Saaz hop plants, bulldozed through two rounds of my chicken wire, and got into the compost pile. YUCK!

Plus he just chewed a hole in my brand new hose. Apparently he wanted to alert me he is out of rawhide chews.

So how about you guy's.

Does it bark? Does it purr? Does if have scales or feathers?

Who's waiting for you at the end of the day?

We have 5 cats that we mostly just cats (I'm not much of a cat person, but the g/f is.. but she's supportive of all my crazy hobbies.. music, brewing, etc., so it's a fair trade off) and our hound Abigail, or Abby for short.

Abs is a black lab/St. Bernard mix and is one of the most loyal, loving dogs I've ever known. She's protective of us, but not to the extend that she bites randoms strangers sort of thing.. but she's got a bark that would scare the crap out of a Wookie, but once the "stranger" becomes "known", she accepts them with the same love that she shows us.

Abby, being a good girl and sitting while she waits to go into my dad's camp:

And here she is, enjoying a sip of my porter (the pug is Doug, my step-sis's dog, who is actually really cool for a pug):
DSCN0740.JPG

Before Abby, I had three dalmatians. They took longer to warm up to strangers (especially the old crotchety one), but once you were "in", you were golden.

Sadly, I've lost them all. Anne (on the left) escaped their pen shortly after this picture as taken and she was struck by a car. Connor (middle) died more recently from acute renal failure after I used a Hartz product on him. Maurice (right) was actually the father of the two others and lived to be fairly old. He passed away after suffering a series of grand mal seizures, most likely secondary to significant heartworm infestation (he was HW+ when I got him, and had already suffered full anaphylaxis to the HW treatment... so he got his little chewable meds with the other dogs and we just hoped for the best).

The dals were all rescued from a puppy farm/dog fighting ring. Maurice had been in numerous scraps and even beaten with a baseball bat. Anne, Connor and their third surviving sibling were fortunately tiny puppies when the "raid" took place, so they only knew a life of love. Maurice, once I got him and we came to the understanding that *I* was in charge, became the most caring and gentle soul.

It's because of these three dogs that I am leaning towards calling my pub "Trìcoin"..

Here are some pictures of our dog Freckles.

He is a Jack Russel/Red Tick mix and a fetching machine.
These were taken at the park with me using the Hyperdog slingshot to shoot tennis balls for him to fetch.
