Hello all, I'm a born again home brewer. In my youth (read "poverty") I made some rudimentary beers in my Esky (ice box) by what I now know is the open fermentation method. The beer was not good but the price was right.
Now I live on a little farm in South Australia and we are fairly self sufficient. We grow our own food including steers chickens fruit and vegetables. Australia's premium wine districts surround us and so I thought I might make beer instead of wine. Why compete?
I am brewing from a basic kit. Everything is going well at the moment and I am getting ready to experiment and vary the recipe. I am grateful for the help and advice this forum provides.
Cheers.
