Hi there !

I calculated the pitching rate using two Online Programms , but they gave me different results !

mrmalty --> 2 gramms of dry yeast

Brewtility --> 1.4 gramms of dry yeast

I'm a little bit confused . I wrote the same data for these Programms .

Which one should I trust ?!

2 grams is a miniscule amount of yeast. Most dry yeast packages are 11.5 grams. Use one package- you won't go wrong. Unless you are using old liquid yeast or have a high OG, don't worry about the calculators.

Do you realize that .8 gallons is 8.5 beers, IF you were able to lose absolutely no beer to trub loss? In reality you're making a 6 pack.

If you really did make a batch that small you wouldn't need much yeast at all, just a fraction of one pack, maybe 1/4 or less. So 2 grams sounds perfect.

You probably have your reasons for making a small batch, but consider the time and effort for the small return.

Type = ale

Vol. = 0.8 Gallons

O.G. = 1.050

Pitching rate = 1.4 or 2 grams of dry yeast ?!
