I ordered a couple of custom kits from AHBS last week and got my order and my Rye Pale Ale came in with 1.5lbs of Carapils, when i was really looking for 0.5 lbs...

And i used their custom recipe feature so it's already mixed in with my other grains so i'm just going to have to brew it.

Heres my grain bill for a heavy PM

4lbs Marris Otter
1.5lbs Munich
1.5lbs Flaked Rye
1.5lbs Carapils (supposed to be 0.5lbs)

So what can i expect? Just some massive head retention and a thick mouth feel?

I guess i'll brew it and hold it till fall/winter when i want a nice heavy feeling beer...

Yeah baby Rye Pale. I can't wait to do one myself. I've heard that recipe kicks. :rockin:

If you compensate with a 60 minute mash at 149 and it'll come out great. I say forget waiting if you want this recipe in winter brew it again. :D
