So, I've had a hankering to do a lager and also to finally see how much Cascade I can stand. I never used to brew with Cascade but I kind of went on a kick for it the last few months. I used a simple split bill of pilsner and 2-row as the malt. Then I beat it to death with 4 ounces of Cascade (1.25 @ 60m, 1.25 @ 25m, and 1.5 @ 5m). Just got it on tap today.

Wow, it is the lightest beer that I've ever brewed and the Cascade dominates. Surprisingly, it is intense to be sure but not as overwhelming as I would expect for such a light grain bill with so much Cascade. All in all I'm pretty pleased with my first lager attempt and I managed to get that Cascade fix I was after.
