I've googled around a while for an AG recipe for one of my favorite porters, but have only found Extract or PM.

Does anyone have a close approximation to Black Butte Porter? The smokey taste is what really hooks me on the stuff so anything with a similar taste would be appriciated!

Thanks from a relatively newbie to AG...only two so far...

Blonde Ale Variant (AG) - Primary
Apfelwien - Secondary
Breakfast Stout (AG) - Bottle
Apricot Wiezen (PM) - Bottle

Why not convert one of the PM recipes? I searched out a few and it should be fairly simple to replace the light extract with 2-row, shouldn't it?

Well, gee...that didn't even cross my mind. Like I said, I'm a newbie to AG and not yet hip to the conversions and such. Thought about buying BeerSmith or similar, but alas....no Mac version.

I'm sure I can find some info with a little digging to do the manual calcs.

Thanks for the reply!

You could try Beer Tools Pro or Beer Alchemy. They both work on Macs.

IIRC... to convert from LME to 2-row, divide by .75 and to convert from DME divide by .6.
