I've been lurking here for a few so i figured i wouls finally post something.

I did an Oatmeal Java Stout that i purchased from Midwest. Well actually it was there Peace Java Stout that i added 1/2 pound of oats to. The beer has been in the bottles a little over 2 weeks and i have to say i'm pretty stoked as to how it tastes so far. Coffee is very dominant and i just love the roasted aftertaste it seems to go on for ever. My only complaints would be i should've used more oats it's a little weak and the body is just a little thin for my tastes next time i think Malto-Dextrine would help. Other than that my friends and family seem to like it since i've already gone through about half a case so far.

Congrats. It will taste even better in a month. So don't plow through it all.

congrats. I use at least a pound of flaked oats in an oatmeal stout.

I wold suggest that you keep at it and move to your own recipes soon. Everyone here can help
