So I Brewed my scotch ale last night.. the SG was 1.058 I'm thinking WTF! 9 lbs of DME, 1/2 lb of sugar.. the steep and carmelized 1.8lbs of grain.. there is a **** ton of sugar in there, and only 1.058 (I was expecting 1.075-80).... So I tested my hydrometer in plain tap water.. it showed 0.088 in 60degree tap water, and sunk about 1/4"below the surface in 80degree...
