When comparing large brewey mash tun slots with the false bottoms we use there seems to be a much bigger percentage of holes in our false bottoms. I have seen the clever punched sheet system that Blichmann engineering use and it seems to me that it mimics the larger brewerys equipment much more accurately, and will be less likely to clog. So as it looks such an elegant solution, I want to make one!
Has anyone got one of these Blichmann bottoms to hand, and can they tell me how far the punched disks have been pushed through the sheet, IE how big is the slot vertically? I can then make a punch up for the fly press at work and get to work.............
