Hey guys im brewing a stout I put it in the secondary last sunday how long do you guys think I should leave it.

Somewhere in the 4-6 week range.

Hi Revvy,

I've got a choc. stout about 2 weeks in the primary right now. No plans to rack it to secondary. I was going to take some gravity readings next week, bottle it at around 3 weeks if it's done, and then let it bottle condition for at least a couple of months before sampling.

Anything you'd suggest doing different with this? I'd ask Yooper, but she hates chocolate beer and will probably smack me with her whip.

To both of you. No need for extended bottle aging. The normal three weeks will be fine.

The time in the secondary will be fine for the time Revvy said. If you were to brew anything larger than 1.070 I would extend bottle aging for a few months to let the flavors meld.
