I love Mad Elf but it's not in the same ball park as NN. We r lucky to have Troegs. Agree?

Slumming.

Having another HB american red to ease the pain of cleaning bottles

I'm still trying to work through all the bottle I brought home from this weekend. Drank quite a few and my buddy had been saving some for me. I won't mess with little bottles that are any harder to clean than SN, but I can't resist more 750s.

Oh man. He didn't make it out of the shutdown?! I'll have to pour out some of my next 40...

Nizzle actually didn't make it to the shutdown and I'm surprised he made it as long as he did. Not that he won't be missed.

Have you made it home and to a celebratory drink? Please tell me your wife named your son and he's not stuck being named after the Biblical harbinger of the apocalypse.

Spoken like a true achy. Blaming your drinking on others is poor form. I only blame my drinking on the voices in my head, but I know those are mine.

Drinking an 09 Bigfoot. I won't be opening any of the newer ones I have anytime soon. The 07 I had the other night was much better than this one. Definitley getting a case this year and writing 'do not open until 2019' on the box.

about to finish this apple wine after finishing all the bottles, only 45 total and 42 of them had my cheap, easy to clean mailing labels on them

We get discharged tomorrow, then some celebratory TH growlers.

New baby = Colin Patrick O'Brien
1.5 year old = Liam Joseph O'Brien

Italian in-laws do not approve (jokingly of course)

You having a PBR pounder....while corking and caging your homebrew? I love the juxtaposition.

On pounder #5, trying to figure out why I got #8 corks and if they will work in punted 750's, or if I just need to head back to my LHBS. Maybe pounder #6 will clear things up.

this one didnt turn out too great, too roasted although not intense but also not enough hop presence, really none at all

I hope that doesn't happen to this beer! I think it was a total of 7 ounces added to the last 20 minutes (20-10-whirlpool) of a 90 minute boil. 3.5 Amarillo and 3.5 centennial.

I think #8 corks are 7/8" and beer corks are 1". I wouldn't use the #8s unless you are planning on capping as well, which judging from the cages in your pic, you aren't.

Anyone ever weigh their hop union hops? They are 1 ounce WITH the package. .6 ounces without. Heavy ass foil package robs you for sure!

Unless my scale is wrong, I usually get about 1.1-1.2 oz out of a hop union bag not including the packaging. So I don't know what you're talking about. I'm sorry they shorted your bag.

Drinking my 3724 Saison.

Should be 1.2 with the bag I think. Owner of my lhbs will let me weigh before buying. He says the short bags come from end of run and he sends them back for credit or just uses them for his brews

I guess I don't know what I'm talking about, I just weighed the 4 centennial bags and they were all spot on .6. I just thought I would see what they weighed since I had the Amarillo on the scale. My bad on that.

Thanks for that. Now I will have to weigh our hop orders from now on so I can get some credit back from LD Carlson.

:mug:

Uh oh! It might be time to do some hop freezer porn!

I haven't made this years order yet. Other expenses (like buying gauze) keep getting in the way, but I might actually order this week. I doubt I've got 2 lbs left. On the other hand my fozen fruit stash is pretty sexy.

I wish I had that kind of freezer space.

I'm lucky my wife lets me get away with buying a couple pounds at once.
