So I'm trying to keep my beer in a dark environment (in a closet and it's wearing a black t shirt) but florescent lights are shining in the room all day so whenever I check the beer to take a hydrometer reading the light gets to the beer. Is florescent lights worse, same, or easier on the beer compared to sunlight?

The average lighting level from fluorescents is about 1/1000th that of sunlight and most of the UV generated is converted by the phosphors to visible light or contained by the bulb.

Just don't put it near a UV light and you will be ok. I still limit the amount of any light my beer sees though, just gives me a little more peace of mind.
