Is there any real difference between using sugar and carbonation drops for priming when bottling?

The first two beers I brewed, I just used carbonation drops for the convenience factor, but am wondering if it would be a good idea to start priming with sugar instead...

Carb drops are sugar--just pre-measured. I have never used carb drops, but have heard they tend to overcarb beer. Corn sugar is much cheaper, but drops do seem to be easier.

I use corn sugar and malt powder and I think thats easier. You add It once and your done. Plus beer tastes better when you have the chance to fine tune it. We can add this to the list of this vs that. Thats all I have to say about that.
