SOOW power cord? Not sure I follow.

Edit: I already have 6/3 installed to a 60A GFCI breaker. Two elements running together should only be about 45A which I feel my system can safely handle.

Beamer is probably referring to the service cord going from your wall socket into your brewery's power distribution circuit. S00W is the nice pliable stranded cable you should use. once you go beyond 10awg the price gets mind numbing. If you're brewing it's probably all in order any how ;)

Maybe you guys can explain this one to me.

I bought 8 gauge, 4 wire "W" cable, rated for 2000V and 65A for $2.20/foot. It's plenty pliable, rubbery outer jacket, etc.

Same store sells 8 gauge, 4 wire "SOOW" cable, rated for only 600V and 35A for $3.00/foot:

Never understood that.
