Why is it not advisable to re-pitch yeast?
Just curious.
I brewed a batch and could not find the yeast meant for it. I had to use a 6 gram muntons ale packet. I have since found the yeast that was meant to be.... It's been 4.5 days and fermentation has slowed. It was never releasing tons of co2 like I'm used to seeing (I brew at 70 degrees). Should I dump it into the airlock hole?

thanks

It is not bad, just kind of a waste. There isn't much left for new yeast to use and what is left will probably be taken up by the yeast that is already present since it will out compete the newcomers.

So I'll store the yeast I have for reserve.
Thanks
