I wanted to know how everyone else cleans their used slants out.

I stick mine upside down in the microwave until they melt out. It's very stinky and I usually end up burning myself from impatience.

There must be a better way.

Run hot water in the slant

use the butt end of the loop to break the agar free

cover opening and shake

pour out liquid and agar

repeat as necessary

usually takes a couple of times using this method. You could also get a brush

I use Hugh's method, though to get out remnants sometimes I boil a pot of water with the tubes in it.
