So I have been reading several articles (admittedly a few years old) regarding the world grain shortage. Several of the articles relate to China's increased meat consumption, and how they are buying up vast amounts of crop to feed the animals. The article forecast a grain depletion by September of 2010.

It will likely increase grain and meat prices and put the hammer to corn ethanol production. Probably won't impact malting barley, as it already carries a premium price compared to feed barley.
