So my wife's coworker grows her own hops and has offered to give me some. I'm planning on brewing a pumpkin ale(extract, partial mash) but have never worked with fresh hops. I know how much hops to use in pellet form but not fresh. Any suggestions?

If they are not dried , then it needs to about a 5 to 1 ration. If they are dried, then normal weight is fine. I defintely reccomend a hop bag for fresh hops.

Thanks for your reply.

Would you still add the fresh hops at the same time you would add the pellet hops?
A guy here is telling me he adds them to the wort instead of the boil.

They are not dried.
