Good read. Up here, the local hop farmers used to hire college students (and just about everyone else), as the harvest came in just before the Fall sessions started. The dorms would open early to accommodate the student workers & buses ran from the dorms to the farms every day.

I took my brew buddy up to Yakima about 13 years ago to visit breweries and see the hop fields. When we arrived at the fields I was driving a rented Lincoln and wearing a white shirt and tie (the old salesmans uniform). Upon seeing us the workers scattered and it took about 15 minutes to get them back...The supervisors were not pleased. All we wanted to do was check out the hops before we enjoyed...yet another brew.
