Anyone have experience using this yeast? I pitched it last night in a blonde ale and it's going strong this morning. I left it at about 70 overnight because the starter looked really weak, but now that it's going strong I dropped it to 66. It could be lower but I don't want to shock them too bad. Does it normally take off like that or did I just have it way too hot?

cal ale is a pretty easy strain to use and 70 is at the high range of where it is comfortable. My guess is that your ambient temp was 70 which means the beer temp was probably closer to 75+ which is a bit too warm and why you got such active fermentation. Blonds are also not super high gravity making it a fairly easy ferment. Thats normal...
