I have brewed 4 batches in about 18 months. The first two were Brewer's Best kits (pale ale and amber ale) and the second two were William's (London brown and English bitter). All have been very good. I like the William's because the grain is in with the malt but I have had trouble getting the liquid yeast packet to activate. The Brewer's Best requires an extra step of simmering the grain but the powdered yeast is easy to use.

Are there any other brand kits I should try? I don't have any interests in creating my own recipe, preferring the simplicity of the kits.

Both AHS and Northern Brewer let you choose whether you want dry or liquid yeast. As far as steeping grains are considered, those are usually associated with higher quality kits.
