Hope this isn't a stupid question,

Just to clarify,
a) How long should you leave primary fermentation going - until the bubbles stop regularly?

b) after secondary fermentation (is this approx 2 weeks?), is there enough yeast left in solution to undertake conditioning and carbonation using priming sugar?

We all had these questions a one time, so ask away.

Yes is the answer to both questions.

A number of people follow the 1-2-3 method.
1 week primary
2 weeks secondary
3 weeks in the bottle

a) as mentioned above or until you have a few days of consistent gravity readings
b) two weeks, sure...no problem.
