Priming Sugar question?

I dont know how it happened but somehow I lost almost a gallon between boiling hydrometer check and what not. Should I take this into account with the priming sugar to avoid blowing up bottles?
 
I thought he was doing a "boiling hydrometer check." I thought that might have been another problem for a second...
