OK guys,

I recently moved into my first house. I want to make a 10 gallon batch of wheat beer. I am set up for all grain. I batch spage.
So far only single infusion. I will be buying all my grain and crushing it myself with my soon to purchase Crankenstein mill.

Can someone lend me a recipe for a great 10 gallon wheat beer.

I want something refreshing for the summer.

Thanks to everyone.

Tony

:mug:

5 lbs two row
4 lbs white wheat
single infusion mash at 153*f
.5 oz hallertuer 60 min(spelling?)
.25 oz tettanger 5 min
if you want a cloudy beer use a wiezen yeast if you want it clear use a high floccing clean yeast like 001 or 810 for a hybrid. im going to brew this on sunday with 810 for a lighter quaffer, maybe some good honey at flame out. this recipe is for 5 gallons double for 10 .

A very tasty Bavarian Hefeweizen. You'll think you are in Munich :D

For 10 gallons

14# Wheat
8# Pils
Single infusion at 153 for 90 minutes
1.5 oz Hallertau at 45 min
0.5 oz Hallertau at 15

Wyeast 3068 Weihenstephan.

O.G. 1.052
F.G. 1.009

Ferment at 68 degrees for 10 days then keg.

Thanks Ed

when you say 14 pounds wheat. Do u have a specific wheat in mind

You could use German Red Wheat or American Wheat Malt. I'm using Canadian Wheat Malt from North Country Malt and it works great.

I use a 10 gallon water cooler with a stainless braid and I used to use rice hulls in it, but did this same 10 gallon recipe without any last time and no stuck sparges. If you do use them, use about a pound, soak them and rinse them first. They won't soak up your wort and they will be much cleaner.
