Hi

I have tried my first brew, and all has been ok (24 hours) until the lid just popped off and covered my kitchen floor (in total about 1/16th of a gallon - is this still going to be ok or will i need to start again??

Your beer will be fine. Clean and sanitize your lid and airlock and put them back on. It happens all the time.

Do a search about blow off tubes and get yourself one.

Never, ever consider tossing a brew until it's finished, bottled, and aged. In the immortal words of EvilToJ, only toss if it tastes like satin's ass.

clean and sanitize the lid and airlock and reseal your fermenter

next time look into a blow-off tube

something like these
