so i bought a few cornys used off of a guy. I just tapped the first one tonight and I had co2 leak out of the top. my question is about the o rings. is it obvious of when they are bad or can they look ok and still need replaced? not sure why else I could have a leak. Please give me some suggestions. thanks!!!

Get yourself some keg lube. If they're in decent shape, a little lube and a little finangling will usually get the lid to seal right.

sometimes they can look ok. try the_birds trick first. to inspect them, look at the cross section, is it round or flattened? they should be round but even ones that are flattened some should seal. Bend the oring backwards and look for little cracks, if you see cracks replace them. even if they seal they become bacteria harbors and will fail soon anyway.
