This may seem like a silly question - a neighbor has given me a big bag of freshly harvested hops - Willamette.

He told me to put them in the freezer, which I have done.

My question - I have always used pellets .. do I use the same weight of hops ? I do not have a scale (on my list) ..

Suggestions ? Tought I might try them in EdWort's Haus PaleAle .

They will be of unknown AAs so you may be better using them for flavour and aroma. Stick with a known AA for bitterness or try a little experimenting.

Use 5-6 times by weight. If you want to get closer than that to take the time to dry some. Willamette is a low AA hop, so I wouldn't worry about over/under bittering.

So are they Ok to dry hop with? IS there a limit on how long they should be in there?

1-2 Weeks usually, some people complain about grassy flavors after a week...so you may want to sample to see what you think.

You really should invest in a scale :)
