Mountain brew.....??

So I was reading this months issue of BYO and in the first section a reader writes in to ask a question about an article in last months BYO. This article was about a guy who came up with a recipe for beer using Mt.Dew soda. This intrigued me as this is my wifes favorite soda.

I searched around a bit and didn't find much one this. I searched BYO archives and came up with this:

But this is from may 05'.


Anyone catch the article I'm talking about from last months BYO? Is this recipe similar?

Has anyone ever tried this?


Any help would be appreciated. If the recipe above differs if anyone could post it from last months BYO would be great!

Since there was no discernable difference in taste, it seems like a waste of soda (or brew) to me.
