I'm new to home brewing, and I went and bought a cheap kit, and now I would like to get a glass carboy. It came with a 6.5 gallon plastic bucket. What all do I need to get to start using a glass? Also what size of a carboy would you recommend, 5 or 6.5 gallon?
What more do I need if I get a glass carboy?

6.5 gallons if you're going to use it for primary fermentations. 5 gallons if you're using it for a secondary. Get a drilled stopper, usually a #7, and an airlock and you're good to go.

I recommend buckets, but if you want a carboy, I would suggest the 6.5 gallon if you intend to use it for a primary, but the 5 gallon will work ok as a secondary.

Another vote for 6.5 gallons. I have a 5 gallon one that I thought I'd use for secondary but it's just picking up dust. Depending on local supply, you could probably get one for under 10$ used.
