I was mashing on my stove stop and saw the temp was falling a little bit, i turned the stove back on and the temp shot up to 180. I was very quick to get it back down to 155. Will it be ok.
 
HOw's your OG? If you did it for long enough, you could have stopped the conversion altogether. Do you have any iodine to test with?
 
I have some iodine solution that is 10 % iodine and I tested with that and it stayed the iodine cololr, I was 40 min in.
 
Without knowing the exact amount of time the lapsed, I would guess that your thermometer was touching the bottom of the pot so it read higher when head was applied. It takes a lot of heat from a stove to move the temperatures of the volume of mash so I think you should be fine
