they are .69 a lb at food city when they are in season so I just buy them.
The big thorns are off when you buy them at the store, but the little ones are still there.

no kidding - I didn't know they were that cheap. I was out in the desert last summer and figured I'd pick a few pounds - about 20 minutes and about 0.5 lbs later and tons of thorns, I said screw this.
I'll have to pick some up this summer at the store...
