Hi Everyone! Just looking for feedback on this brew recipe, partial mash.
Mash:
3.00 lbs American 2 row pale
1.00 lbs Belgian Biscuit Malt
0.63 lbs Chocolate Malt
0.44 Crystal 40L
69% efficiency
Added 2.33 lbs Briess Pilsen Light DME.
Kent Goldings 0.75 oz for 70 min
Kent Goldings 0.25 oz final 10 min
Pitched S-05 Dry yeast (after rehydrating) at 66 degrees F
Fermentation temp at 68 (probably will climb to 72 or so during the intense phase).
Boil Volume = 3.5 Gallon
Batch size = 5.0 Gallon
This recipe yeilded an OG of 1.045
Estimated based on my calculator:
FG 1.013 (70%+ AA)
IBU 22
SRM 23
ABV 4.4% (4.6% afer bottle carbing)
Thoughts are welcomed, please!
PS I called this "WTF Ale" because it really is just an attempt to use up all my leftover grain, DME and Hops from prior batches, hence the odd (or specific, rather) measurements. I am moving and will be unable to brew for about 4 mo, so I didn't want my grains to go bad! All the same, I think it is a solid brown ale recipe, but I have been wrong before!

This beer was good, though if i brew it again i will do so with a yeast strain that is not so dry tasting. i also carbed this based on the low end of reccomended brwon ale carb levels. I am going to bump that up closer to the mid-range.
