I just purchased some New Zealand hops and want my first brew to showcase the flavor and aroma of Nelson Sauvin hops. Please be gentle, this is my first go at my own recipe formulation.
Anyways I want to hit an OG of about 1.050 either through all grain or a partial mash depending on how hot it is outside when I'm going to brew this up.
Grain bill:
1 lb C60 + Vienna malt (+ DME if I end up doing a partial mash)
Hop Schedule:
.5 oz Pacific Gem (15.1% AA) @ 60 min
1 oz Nelson Sauvin (11.8% AA) @ 10 min
1 oz Nelson Sauvin (11.8% AA) @ 5 min
Beersmith tells me this should hit around 50 IBUs. My main concern is I'm going to miss out on the flavor/aroma of the Nelson Sauvin hops. If I need to move things around or add anything please let me know.
