? making a keg purchase

I see alot of people buy keg systems from kegconnection, but midwest supplies is running a special wednesday (10% off anything). So i figure this is the best time to get one. I can get it along with my other order i was going to make anyways and save on shipping. So my question is: Are all kegging systems the same (the regulators and other parts)? What else do I need to buy along with it (grease and extra O rings)?

All the basic setups are pretty much the same. As I'm sure you know, the big differences in price are all the upgrades (faucets, extra kegs, etc). Make sure if you are building a kegerator, to get the shank and faucet that you'll want. Most of the basic keg setups come with picnic taps. A set of spare o-rings and keglube are never bad things to have around, but not necessary right away.

I agree the big price difference comes from faucets, size of CO2 tank, fancy regulators and shanks. Other than that they should all be about the same with the same basic parts. The kegs themselves will essentially be the same as well.

One thing that you might want to think about is your co² tank. A lot of the 'systems' include a tank - empty. (They cannot ship a full tank.) Please give a bit of thought on how you will get that tank filled. If all you have available in your area is an exchange program, you will be giving away a brand new, expensive tank for a old used full one. You might be way better off paying a deposit on the first one from a place like AirGas and then exchanging later on.

Thank you for your help. Im just looking to get a kit with picnic taps for now, and a used CO2 tank because I will be using Airgas to exchange tanks. Whats the best way to clean the lines out with? I see some people puts some cleaner in a keg and hooks the gas up and pushes the solution thru your setup. Is this the best way?

I use a garden sprayer after removing the spray wand and clamping a bev out post to the hose. No need to waste CO2 that way.
