Blue glass bottles?

Has anyone ever used blue glass bottles? I've got a 750mL flip-top that used to have mead in it, and a couple more bottles of the same mead waiting to be drunk.

The flip-top is handy, of course, and I love the color (would be nice for some specialty brews, gifts, etc.) but I'm not sure how good the blue glass would be for my beer. Such as, is it about the same as green or worse/better?

I also just realized that the mead that originally came in these bottles was not carbonated. Is that a reason not to try carbonating something in them now?

You can use them ,you just need to take a little extra care to keep them in the dark. They will hold carbonation, so no worries. (Were they RedStone bottles by any chance?)

Yep, Parker, that's exactly what they are. Very cool bottles (and decent mead which I will be drinking more of), so maybe I will give them a try on an upcoming batch.
