His presentation will begin with a brief history of brewing, followed by a step by step description of how to brew beer. The chemical processes that occur during the brewing process will be discussed, including topics such as kinetics, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. The talk will be topped off by a list of important flavor compounds (both desirable and undesirable) in beer. The event will conclude with a tasting of a variety of styles of beer.
