i was wondering how to resize a recipe. is there a tool or chart available for this? i'd like to try a gallon of porter and some others to see how they are, anyone know where the resources are for this?

You can pretty much scale everything in a linear fashion without any problems.

At one gallon, you will want to do a full wort boil. same boiling time but adjust with enough water to factor in evaporation.
